Forest Dept permits at trailhead. Usually arranged by operators.
Himachal
Inner Line Permits for Spiti/Kinnaur. Standard treks need only Forest entry.
Ladakh
ILP mandatory for non-Indians and most border treks. Apply online.
Common permit mistakes
